Privacy policy
DontCallMe is built to collect as little as possible. The app collects no personal data, and the website only stores what it takes to keep the spam list trustworthy.

Who we are
DontCallMe is operated by Gaijin ApS (Denmark), the data controller for both dontcallme.eu and the iOS and Android apps. Questions about privacy? Email hello@dontcallme.eu.
The app (iOS and Android)
The app requires no account and contains no ads, tracking or analytics. We collect no personal data through the app.
All call screening happens locally on your device. The numbers of your incoming calls never leave the phone: on iOS the operating system looks them up in the preloaded list itself, and on Android the lookup happens in the app's local copy of the list. We cannot see who calls you.
The app's only network traffic is fetching the spam list from the endpoint you have chosen. As with any web request, the endpoint's host (e.g. GitHub or dontcallme.eu) sees your IP address — nothing else is sent.
The website dontcallme.eu
Reports and ratings: We store the reported number, the category and the time. Your IP address is not stored — only a salted hash used to limit abuse, which cannot be traced back to you.
Removal requests: If you ask to have a number removed, we store the number, your reason and — if you provide it — your email address, which is only used to reply to you.
Login is only used by moderators. When you log in we store the name, email address and any profile picture from the login provider.
Statistics: We run a self-hosted, cookie-free Umami installation. No cookies are set, nothing is shared with third parties, and the numbers are aggregated and anonymous.
Phone numbers on the list
The spam list consists of phone numbers reported by users. We process them on the basis of legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): protecting users against unwanted and fraudulent calls. If your number is listed by mistake, you can object directly on the number's page or email hello@dontcallme.eu.
Processors and retention
The website is hosted on Netlify and the database at Neon — both process data solely on our behalf. Reports are kept for as long as they are relevant to the list. Removal requests are kept as moderation records; you can always ask us to delete your email address.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Email hello@dontcallme.eu and we'll respond as quickly as we can. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) or the supervisory authority in your own country.
Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be announced on the front page.
